True Power

Power. Authority. Leadership. To me, they’re all variations on a theme. Different perspectives of the same core thing. Through one lens, that core thing looks like power. Through another, it looks like authority. And through another, it looks like leadership.

In the same vein, to me, the words True, Authentic and Genuine are also different facets of the same core. Like the facets of a masterfully cut diamond, each has its own unique sense of beauty…all emanating from the same core.

So pick your perspective, and follow me on a journey of thought….

Genuine leadership is neither buoyed nor drowned by oceans of opinion. True power doesn’t swim…it walks on water.

To my knowledge, only two people have physically walked on water. And according to history, one of them had to pull the other up out of the water…while standing on it.

Think about that for a moment. Not only standing ON water…but lifting up another human being out of water. That had to be over 300# of “should be sinking” material…not sinking…not floating…but standing on water.

What kind of power does it take to do that?

I saw a video on Facebook the other day of the Gravity flying suit. (Here’s a link to the video.)

Gravity builds 1,000 hp jet engine flying suits.  So, practically, it takes about 1,000 horses to generate the power necessary for one person to walk on water.  That’s a lot.  That’s more than twice the horsepower of my Cadillac Escalade, which will move about 16,000 pounds fully loaded.

But in the historical account, there’s no record of a contraption that assisted with walking on water.  He had it in him.  Not the contraption, but the ability to be so aligned with his purpose that it seemed like the universe contorted itself to serve him rather than the other way around.  I say, “it seemed,” because from my perspective, the universe didn’t contort itself.  Rather, the universe found someone who was committed to living out their purpose, and the universe joined in the commitment.

Figuring out how to partner with the universe…that’s true power, if you ask me.

All of creation, everything in the universe, is groaning for…is actively looking for…people who are committed to doing what they were created to do.  And when we make that commitment, we step into a flow that is exponentially more powerful, and moving far faster than the status quo. We tap into true power.

Are you achieving everything you want to in life? Are you living out your purpose? Do you want to leverage true power along the way? Do you want to walk on water, or are you content to just swim in it?
