Ever walked into a room and it just felt warm, inviting, good? Or the opposite – ever walked into a room and it just felt cold, kind of scary, almost evil?
If you had the power to create that sensation in the room, which one would you choose?
Researchers studying energy fields looked at two groups of people. The first group was couples on first dates and other romantic encounters. Using equipment that measures radiation beyond the visible spectrum, they saw the energy fields these people created were actively reaching out towards each other, interacting, dancing, playing.
The second group was couples in divorce court. Even though these people were often sitting physically closer to each other than the first group, their energy fields were tight, closely held, and strained to not interact with the other person…or anyone else.
The people in the first group came from an attitude of openness. Curiosity. Abundance. Of love. And it created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The people in the second group came from an attitude of closed-mindedness, lack, and fear. And it created a cold, chilling atmosphere.
Standing in a grocery store checkout line this week here in South Texas – and in many other locations around the world this week – you have the opportunity to create one of two things: abundance, or scarcity. Love, or fear.
A friend shared their story around that exact experience. Standing in a looooooong line, looking at shopping carts overflowing with toilet paper and bottled water, they began to feel anxious…concerned. They thought, “I know I don’t need more of X…but maybe I should go get some…just in case.”
My friend is acutely aware of their own energy, and quickly recognized they were being bombarded by the atmosphere of scarcity, of lack, of fear. Marinating in it, so to speak. So they made a choice. A choice to come from abundance and love while floating in a sea of scarcity and fear. Metaphorically, you might say they floated above the morass. Walked on water, so to speak. And immediately, their disposition changed. Posture changed. Facial expression changed. Whole body relaxed.
Our choices around abundance and scarcity declare our destiny. We can float in a sea of frustration, anger, scarcity and fear. Or we can come from abundance in all things and be a life preserver. A raft. A lighthouse. A safe haven of hope in the midst of a s***storm. A person who walks above the turbulent waters that are this present global circumstance of COVID-19.
We each have the power to create atmosphere around us. What kind of atmosphere are you going to create today?
