Do you ever struggle with feeling stuck? Like you know there’s something more for you out there? And everything you do to try to get there…doesn’t work?
I’ve felt like that from time to time. And if I’m honest, I still do get that way now and then.
And here’s what helps me get through that: I behave.
No, I don’t chastise myself because of “bad behavior.” I don’t hear my mother in my head saying, “Traaaaaace…beeeeee kiiiiiiiind.” And it’s not that I’m “behaving badly” to begin with.
I just read the word. Behave.
Be.
Have.
And it reminds me that the outcome I have is because of how I am being.
For me, my stuckness arises from an overemphasis on the “doings” and an under-emphasis on the “beings.” When I take an honest assessment of what I say I want to have, and compare that against how I am showing up in life – how I am being – well, let’s just say those feelings of being stuck are pretty good indicators that something’s out of alignment with the “be-have” relationship.
And it prompts me to shift some things around in how I show up.
When “how I show up” (be) aligns with what I say I want to have from life, then the actions necessary to get there (the things I do) are suddenly a joy. A pleasure. They’re, dare I say it, FUN!
What’s something you’re doing that that’s out of alignment between how you’re showing up and what you say you really want?
